Identify How To Charge Your Battery
… and use exposure to the method to keep your energy topped up throughout the day.

It’s important to choose and identify with your chosen mediums and creative outlets. Everyone should have a way of expressing themselves and a space where they can be themselves in the truest possible sense.
It should be somewhere where your life energy is rejuvenated and you feel more youthful because of it. I think we all have a space and time where we are most innovative, most creative and happiest; have you found yours?
Let's consider some ways that we can fine-tune our medium and express ourselves:
Acoustic
Acoustic-based expression is probably one of the oldest forms of the medium we can use. Whilst talking may be one of the most widely used means of expression, music, singing and videos all have their part to play. If you love using your voice or listening to the rich sounds the world exposes us to every day, then perhaps your chosen medium could be acoustic. Listening to and making music are great ways to use acoustic signals as a medium of self-expression.
Visual form
The use of visual expression takes me back to thinking of the cave drawings created in France, where the time span between drawings was 5000 years, but they were created spatially, right next to one another.
The visual expression can be split into dimensions; 2D, 3D and 4D. Two-dimensional visual work includes painting and drawing. Three-dimensional forms include sculpture and architecture. Four-dimensional forms include theatre, dance and film.
Ways to rejuvenate this form of charging include inspiring spaces, exposure to design and graphics.
Writing
Writing could be classed as visual, but I think it engages a different part of the brain than visual, non-word-based language. Writing is one of my chosen mediums. It can be physical such as in a notebook, creative like calligraphy or digital on a computer. Reading and writing books and poetry are great ways to express yourself and experience writing-based experiences.
Smell, taste and touch-based
If you love cooking and trying new foods, or getting out in the garden, then your chosen expressive medium may be touch, taste and smell. Use your senses to your advantage and delight them whenever you can to feel rejuvenated and full of energy.
Pace-based
You may find your medium is pace-based. For example, you may prefer something slow and relaxing like meditation and yoga, or you may prefer fast-paced like sport and exercise. Try changing the pace around to see if you connect to pace as an expressive and rejuvenating medium.
Challenge-based
You may express yourself best during challenge-based experiences. These could be daring experiences like sky-diving or race-car driving. They could be entrepreneurial experiences like running a business and making money. Or it could be travelling to new places or exploring your local area by bus.
Learning-based
Learning new things is a way many of us relax and regain our life energy. Teaching is the other end of this spectrum. Try sharing what you learn with others. Do you crave new knowledge and insight?
Social expression
You may find you express yourself best in a social setting such as running community events or spending time with friends and family. Do you vibe from the energy and connections with other people?
Wherever you find your medium of expression, cherish it and expose yourself to it regularly to keep your life energy battery topped up.
Once you resonate with a type of medium, why not try experiencing the full range of methods within that type of medium? Love learning? Try teaching. Love hanging out with friends socially? Try absorbing the social atmosphere and just watch and listen. Love 2D art, then why not explore art in the 4D in both space and time?
